Excretory System
Major Functions
The excretory system is responsible for for the removal of various wastes from the body, which can cause toxic build up and lead to death and disease. Urine is the result of the excretory system balancing the amount of water and salts in your body. Your kidneys are the core organs involved in the excretory system.
Kidneys- Kidneys have many functions in the body, including producing hormones, absorbing minerals, and filtering blood and producing urine.
Urinary Bladder- The urinary bladder is the organ that collects urine excreted by the kidneys before disposal by urination.
Ureter- The ureter is the tube that carries urine from the kidney to the urinary bladder.
Urethra- The urethra is the tube that that conveys urine from the urinary bladder to the outside of the body.
Glomerulus- The main function of the glomerulus is to bring blood to the nephron.
Loop of Henle- The main function of the loop of henle appears to be the recovery of water and sodium chloride from the urine. This function allows production of urine that is far more concentrated than blood, limiting the amount of water needed as intake for survival.

How Urine Is Made
The urinary system consists of the kidneys, uterus, urinary bladder, and urethra. The kidneys filter the blood to remove wastes and produce urine. The uterus, urinary bladder, and urethra together from the urinary tract, which acts as a plumbing system to drain urine from the kidneys, store it, and then release it during urination.
How It Works With Other Systems
Nervous System- The nervous system sends signals to the bladder and kidneys to create and store urine, and later on, it also directs the leaving of wastes from the body.
Circulatory System- The circulatory system helps carry the wastes to the rectum during the digestive system. So therefore those wastes can be removed.

Diseases
Nephritis- swollen of one or both of the kidney's due to the inflammation of the nephron. Nephritis can be caused by infection, but mostly by autoimmune disorders which affect major organs.
Nephrosis- non-inflammatory kidney disease. Also known as Nephrotic syndrome, cause by different disorders that impair the kidney which cause the release of protein in the urine.
